A major objective of the Gateway Initiative is to continually search out training opportunities for our investor businesses and organizations. The Gateway Training Academy brings world-class training and process improvement opportunities to small and large businesses, and across a variety of industry sectors. Through partnerships with Alabama Industrial Development Training (AIDT), Alabama Technology Network (ATN), and Auburn’s Technical Assistance Center (ATAC) Gateway is aiming to improve the workforce in south Baldwin County for the betterment of the whole community, locals and visitors alike!
Auburn’s Organizational Management Course Series
The Gateway Training Academy in partnership with Alabama Technology Network (ATN) is pleased to announce a new collaboration with Auburn University’s Technical Assistance Center (ATAC). We will be offering a series of six courses, one each month beginning October 2020. These courses normally cost $249 per person, but for Gateway Investors the cost is $150.
Businesses who register for all 6 classes will have the opportunity to have a one day, on-site mentoring / coaching session from an Auburn University Professional to understand your company's unique culture and challenges to develop a collaborative implementation plan. Together, we will determine the applicability of a custom-built training and coaching program to create a genuine value-added partnership for the betterment of your organization.
All classes are held from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

AIDT Leadership Training
NOTE: Classes are available to Gateway Investors and South Baldwin and Coastal Alabama Chamber Members. Classes are only offered virtually at this time.
Gateway’s partnership with SAWDC brings a tremendous training opportunity through Alabama Industrial Development Training (AIDT) where participants will have the opportunity to complete a Leadership Certification program taught by AIDT's Leadership Training Professionals.
This training is typically offered in three sessions. Each session holds an individual certification. There is a special certification for participants who complete all three sessions. Please note that registration is open for 20 attendees at this time, with a limit of 4 employees per business.
AIDT Leadership Skill I (2 Day Session) - 2021 Opportunities Coming Soon
- A recommended first course for first-line, team leads and/or supervisors. The course concentrates on roles and responsibilities, communication, motivation and teamwork. There is a comprehensive test given after the class. If passed, the exam offers the credential of AIDT Certified Leader I. The class is offered in a 2-day format. This class is designed for currently employed Alabama citizens who are in leadership roles in their respective companies.
AIDT Leadership Skill II (2 Day Session) - 2021 Opportunities Coming Soon
- A follow-up course to Leadership Skills I, and includes more advanced topics of supervision to include personality assessment, conflict management, and ethics. There is a comprehensive test given after the class, and if passed offers the credential of AIDT Certified Leader II. The class is offered in a 2-day format.
AIDT Leadership Skill III (1 Day Session) - 2021 Opportunities Coming Soon
- The newest class in the Leadership Skills series. It is recommended for those who have previously attended LSI and LSII. It is a one-day course that focuses on a variety of the latest leadership topics. There is a comprehensive test and if passed offers the credential of AIDT Certified Leader III.

Gateway to Great Customer Service
We are pleased to bring to you a customizable training experience geared towards delivering excellent customer service, with Southern Hospitality and South Alabama flavor included at every turn. Gateway to Great Customer Service is a two-hour basic customer service class, facilitated by David Worthington, owner and operator of Magnolia Springs Bed & Breakfast, who has dedicated his career to providing exquisite service and exceeding customer expectations. Unique to this course is the inclusion of local tourism information, provided by visitor center professionals: this ensures trainees - regardless of industry - know all there is to know about shopping, eating, and playing here, and can send visitors to our local establishments during their stay.
