A major objective of the Gateway Initiative is to develop a program that will assist people of all ages who have a dream of owning or growing their own business to develop their ideas and actually launch their new endeavors. Take a peek below at how we’re involved in our local entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Gateway has a broad network of subject matter experts in a variety of industries. If we don’t have the experience, we can connect you with the right people to guide your new venture! If you’re looking to start, build, or grow your business, call us: we’ll link you to the right partner! Informally, the Gateway team has provided coaching and mentoring services to small, local businesses across the county, including Copper Kettle Tea Room, Wolf Bay Lodge Restaurants, Safari Club at the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo, Plasmine Technology, Inc., and more. We also have big long term goals - Gateway aims to develop an incubator program and eventually a brick and mortar operation in South Baldwin county. Stay tuned and let us know if you'd like to be involved as we help build better businesses in our region! Meanwhile, check out these resources:

Our team has designed a formal process and program to learn about your operation and recommend strategies for growth. Recent data points to 1 out 20 business owners being veterans, which speaks to the fact that their unique experience and perspective gives them the ideal skill set needed to successfully take on the challenges of entrepreneurship. Veterans are often able to demonstrate an inspiring style of leadership that is characterized by selflessness, balanced with the discipline to strive for continued growth and progress, and perfectly equipped to remain effective when facing the greatest of setbacks. Most of all, though every entrepreneur will have a different journey, sacrifice will undoubtedly be a part of the success story.
