Gateway & CACC Host Tri-City Tour with USA's New HTM Dept Chair

The Gateway Team organized and hosted a full day tour alongside Coastal Alabama Community College, to welcome the University of South Alabama's new Department Chair, Dr. Kahl Nusair, to our area. He has made his reputation as one of the most cited marketing scholars in the world. Dr. Nusair chairs USA's Hospitality and Tourism Management Program and has exciting plans for growing and restructuring the program. “We have to find a gap in the market with specializations in the major,” Nusair said. “We’re working on offering a high-flexibility program for students with two-year degrees, and students who are already working and want to advance with a four-year degree,” he continued. They are working closely with Coastal Alabama Community College to partner on this effort.

Gateway brought together many of our investors to meet with Dr. Nusair and other members of USA’s HTM team including Dr. Tres Stefurak, Amanda Donaldson, and Aimee Meyers. A meet-and-greet was hosted at Foodcraft within The Lodge at Gulf State Park to meet with business owners, operators, and human resources directors. Gateway would like to acknowledge and thank our industry partners for joining us: Spectrum Resorts, A&R Hospitality, Panini Pete’s Hospitality Group, Cosmo’s Restaurant Group, The Lodge, and Gulf State Park Recreation. Another special thanks to Perdido Beach Resort and The Wharf for private tours. Dr. Nusair and his department will be back on March 30th with their students to take a full tour of The Lodge at Gulf State Park. Please contact Tyler Morgan if you’d like to connect with their program.
