Gulf Shores, AL – Gulf Shores High School students recently participated in an engaging industry tour to explore career opportunities in the hospitality and tourism sector. The event highlighted key aspects of the industry and connected students with professionals and business leaders from the South Baldwin area.

Students began their day with a visit to the Gulf State Lodge, where they were welcomed with an introduction and a property tour. They then traveled to the Orange Beach Welcome Center, where Michelle Russ, Vice President of Sales and Sports, delivered a presentation on regional tourism initiatives.

The event also featured an industry roundtable discussion with leaders from prominent local businesses, including Innisfree Hotels, Cobalt, and OWA Parks & Resort. Students gained valuable insights into the industry’s diverse career paths, challenges, and opportunities.

The tour concluded at The Wharf, offering students a firsthand look at the operations behind one of the iconic destinations in Orange Beach.
