Ed Bushaw, Vice President of Workforce Development for the Gateway Initiative, talks about developments over the weekend and what folks are doing as they get ready to move back to work. He also shares about several programs that could help your business and improve your employees in the process.
Restaurant and Hotel Companies and their staffs can now take advantage of a unique education program designed to meet training requirements for apprentices. Apprentices complete the six week on-line Ready-to-Work Program leading to a Certified Alabama Worker Credential and a Work Keys Credential. At successful completion Certified Alabama Worker apprentices receive a voucher for a free on-line, three-credit hour course offered by Coastal Alabama Community College in Human Resource Management.
Successful completion of this course coupled with one year’s supervisory experience will earn the apprentice the designation of Certified Hospitality Supervisor administered by the National Restaurant Association and the American Hotel & Lodging Association.
